Roadstr v0.5.8 is out. 🛣️
New: "Avoid unpaved roads" — a routing preference that steers you away
from OSM-tagged tracks and dirt roads whenever a paved way exists.
Comes straight from a field report of a near-crash on a routed dirt
track — applied automatically to every route once you turn it on, and
always honest that it's a best-effort steer, never a guarantee.
Also in this release:
• Road reports made with no signal now queue and publish automatically
the moment you're back in coverage — no more losing a report because
the spot that needed it had no bars.
• Settings can be opened mid-navigation now, without stopping the trip.
• Off-route recalculation no longer boxes you into a U-turn after a
deliberate detour.
• "Recalculate" after a traffic-jam alert actually avoids the jam now.
• Fixed Bluetooth music/podcasts staying paused after voice guidance.
• Fixed GPS silently giving up after a location-provider hiccup.
