It’s not a deadly bug. It is an emergent consequence from a problem that was solved at the time with the best thinking available.
It is far from deadly. Many people are working on solutions like witness pruning for example.
But just think about what you would have to believe just to view what Segwit allows for now as deadly.
I do think it is damaging that people can abuse the discount. There will be solutions. They will be better than v30 when we can communicate better with each other.
