What are your thoughts on the many failed prophecies? For example, where in the alleged return of Jesus in spirit form after crucifixion he had told his disciples not to be dismayed as he would be returning within their lifetime.
Personally, it isn’t the historical weeds. It’s incredibly important to utilize other 3rd party sources to validate the claims. Too many Christians claim validity simply by pointing towards a passage of the Bible that confirms said belief. But, that is a logical fallacy and equivalent to when a police department investigates themselves for crimes committed against the public, or how Pfizer investigated themselves for any wrongdoing with regard to many credulous cases.
If there aren’t any independent sources available to support such claims, then it is less about absolute truth and more about “trust me bro”.
