I’ve been cooking for over 30 years, and foraging A LOT for 15 of those.

To my knowledge i’ve never gotten anyone sick.

Yesterday I poisoned myself with these mushrooms. They are curry boletes, not the coveted bicolor boletes that they look like.

The thing is, I knew this. They say you’re supposed to “cook the shit out of them.”

I’ve eaten them on multiple occasions, and iI love them - but I prepared them in a new way yesterday in order to preserve them.

it was a night of puke and poop.

Has me thinking more on the cold card fiasco.

You put in the effort, do what you think is the right thing, and get royally fucked anyways.

It’s a humbling and embarrassing experience.
