it took only 25 years, but i finally have my own personal copy of bleem!

if you've never heard of bleem!, that's probably because it was such a brief, but bright, blip in the emulation world back in the late 90s.

it did what most people thought impossible in 1999: playing PS1 games on your PC (or DreamCast using bleemCast), at a decent speed.

you could download the demo/shareware edition of bleem for free, but in order to unlock the full version, you needed the physical cd-rom which acted as a software dongle or key.

it was infamously difficult to copy the disc at the time. instead of using "bad sectors" to fool cd burners into aborting a cd copy, the disc used actual physical rings pressed into the surface.
