I totally understand your point and you're probably right. Maxis being toxic is the immune response of bitcoin.
While I'm on the BIP110 side, there's still a chance of me being wrong there. It might stall innovation... let's see how it went in a year.
The other day, a podcast about Schopenhauer caught my attention. He made the point that there's an asymmetry when you argue with stupid people. Stupid people always win, if you let them draw your energy. It literally cost them nothing. That's why I was replying.
