My guess that people who reads hn digest - just saved themselves a lot of time, thanks to you. They value their time in sats, probably their work is time-paid; so if they save 10 minutes they ready to pay for it.
People who engaging, have completely different situation: they have FREE time; so, if you save 10 minutes of their time, they think "thank you 🫂 💜" but that's all (well, maybe they are main source of happiness for you)
So, maybe, stay focused on "time-saving for busy people"? (just a guess, I bet you know better what to do)
