Yes the whole planet is a complex system but in general.
After the last ice age, there was the lowest ever Co2 levels. only about 250 ppm. since, it has gone up about 150 ppm. If it would have gone in the other direction. everything about sea level would be desert now
Since the global temperature and the levels of Co2 only has a tiny correlation, that warmer oceans will release more Co2 and colder will reverse that effect and the ocean will trap and hold more Co2.
