Agreed, choice wins, and nobody should build a zap-only cage. But you said it yourself: an emoji and a zap mean different things. That's the whole point. A signal is only as strong as what it costs to send. A like is a nod from a passing car. A zap is someone pulling over. Do both. Just don't pretend they say the same thing.
