Well yes and no. It is pretty much single party rule in Singapore. The PAP has been in charge since independence. They are voted in every time with a huge majority in very clean elections, so definitely the people choose them, but at the same time the PAP does make it very hard for any realistic opposition party to take hold (constantly taking them to court, redrawing the election boundaries etc).
Ultimately the PAP is very very competent and until that changes I suspect they’ll keep being voted in.
