Milad is 27 years old and lives in Iran. A few years ago, he was working as a tailor and living an ordinary life.
Today, he has spent years confined to his bed after a severe autoimmune condition, complications from treatment, osteoporosis and multiple serious injuries left him unable to walk or even sit in a wheelchair.
His most urgent problem is a fractured neck. According to the medical information he has shared, doctors have told him he needs urgent surgery to prevent further spinal damage and potentially life-threatening complications.
The surgery, hospital care and rehabilitation are expected to cost approximately $3,500
Milad receives around $18 a month in local assistance and says that international financial restrictions have left him unable to access conventional banking or international aid.
