ECB to Pilot Investment in Tokenized Debt Using New Pontes Service
The European Central Bank (ECB) is set to integrate distributed ledger technology (DLT) into its internal operations. The bank will invest from its own-funds portfolio into tokenized euro-denominated public-sector debt.
This initiative, facilitated by the new Pontes service, aims to provide the Eurosystem with practical experience in the digital asset lifecycle, from trade execution to portfolio management.
