Understanding what is truth and what is illusion is key to intellectual purity. I became an atheist precisely because there simply wasn’t evidence to support the claim. I was a very, very spiritual child. My religion meant a lot to me. But in that very religion taught me to pursue goodness above all. And I had discovered that truth was paramount to bring about a better world. I had to choose between my faith, and the lessons it had taught me. I chose the latter. I cried that night.
