That's one of the things I really like about Slackware. Under the hood, everything keeps moving forward, new kernels, toolchains, coreutils, libraries, KDE, X, and so on, but the installer and the overall way the system works still feel familiar.
You can come back after many years and immediately recognize it. Slackware evolves without constantly reinventing itself.
