my understanding is: imagine CSGO. You got:
- your rank
- your reputation score
If you get swiped right a lot, the rank goes up and the matchmaking puts you with people in higher tiers
If you use the app A LOT everyday and you like everyone you see, it categorizes you as desperate and with low standards and hide you from most people (which lowers your reputation so to say)
You can have a high rank and a low reputation, and the opposite works too
