I am noticing something I have not seen in a while: people who agree on almost nothing are agreeing on one thing.
Data centers. Surveillance centers. And what they are really after is our water.
An 86-year-old Pennsylvania farmer turned down $15.7 million rather than sell his land to developers. One county over, a township quietly signed away 400,000 gallons of water a day, enough for 2,300 homes.
But there may be a catch:
Pennsylvania's constitution may already forbid this. Article I, Section 27. The water belongs to the people, including the generations not yet born. The state is only the caretaker.
Part 2 of my Surveillance Centers series is up, and this one is free. Please read it, and please send it to your township supervisors before the next meeting.
