I've had fatigue and breathlessness for several months. GP sent me for an iron infusion, which made zero difference.
GP is now concerned I might have something called autoimmune haemolytic anaemia, so I got a bunch of tubes of blood drawn this morning and I'm saving all my urine for 24 hours.
Apparently this is easy to treat... with prednisone. Which I can't take, because it is notorious for triggering bipolar episodes.
Second line therapy is four weeks of rituximab, which I took in my early 30s for a blood disorder, so I know it's safe and tolerable.
Guessing there will be some arguing about the prednisone first though. And I feel so awful I really don't want to wait.
