If you actually look at monetary history, we've never EVER had a single money. There has never been a single Network, it's just a myth that Bitcoin maxis repeat to each other.

You're absolutely right that blockchains scale horizontally, data is non-scarce and the value of any particular chain is simply in the utility it provides to people. There is plentiful block space, as I can get a transaction mined in any number of chains for cheap.
"There can be only one" is a statement of blind faith and doctrine, not economic reality.
