Resistance to colonialism implies violence. And sometimes, very cruel violence, like the Mau Mau in Kenya murdering settler families, the FLN in Algeria bombing cafés or the Blacks in Haiti lynching white slave owners.

But that violence surges in opposition to the constant violence of colonization, which in turn is normalized, invisibilized, not seen as a horrible event but as the normal situation.
