Understandable, you are an experienced Nostr dev/user and want it to work as seamless and consistent as possible... and so do we. Ironically, this issue was either never previously encountered or simply never reported to us, likely because most Vector users are new users and not from the Nostr community.
Big picture we are still new and in Open Beta, so have a lot of kinks to work out, which only grows everyday. One key aspect to highlight is that Vector has been built for the scope of the general public, meaning people that have no idea what Nostr is nor probably ever will. Rather than starting our approach for Nostr-based users first, that is why this issue came about.
Our approach and angle is different, using Vector as a trojan horse for Nostr.
