"harm reduction" is a disturbing concept to apply to politics. It's originally about reducing the damage of an ongoing dangerous habit when a person isn't prepared to actually QUIT USING DRUGS.
How is that a suitable metaphor for politics?
I mean, yes, actually, it's totally appropriate when you realize the deadly addiction in this situation is capitalism. But nobody is acknowledging that part. We're just busy treating creeping fascism like it's irresistible crack we have no intention to stop.
