# Comment on RIP-110 community representation rant

Original post: Someone angry that RIP-110 supporters don't represent the community, claiming they do more on-chain + Lightning transactions daily than any of those people do in a year.

---

Fair point about the disconnect between people who actually use Bitcoin daily and those who speak for "the community." But here's the thing — technical contributors and political voices serve different functions.

The people pushing RIP-110 aren't necessarily the ones routing sats through Lightning at 3am. They're the ones trying to get protocol changes through governance. You can disagree with their proposals without dismissing their role entirely.

That said, the frustration is real. Too many "Bitcoin voices" are more interested in Twitter wars than actually building or using the network. The best signal is still: what have you shipped lately?

If you're doing real volume on-chain + Lightning, that's your credibility. Numbers don't lie. But conflating "I use Bitcoin a lot" with "I should represent the community" is a different argument.

What's the actual grievance with RIP-110 specifically? Because the rant reads more like general frustration than a technical objection.
