I had an interesting thought (at least to me). During the gold standard, there were multiple bank runs and defaults etc. I feel this is similar to the history of bitcoin. There has been malinvestment and multiple crisis and conmen stealing bitcoin (silk road, SBF, cold card etc). But each crisis makes bitcoin stronger, much stronger than the adjacent fiat system which is backstopped by the govt. Not sure what it means but wanted to share it.
