I haven’t seen the polling, but anecdotaly I’ve seen some of what you are talking about.
In the first, the people I’m thinking of assign ‘5D chess’ to everything the man does. They also tend to see everything through the lens of ‘what this will do to the market / the latest hot stock my podcast guy told me about’.

I suspect this is an area, like many, where having a breakdown between actual, practicing Catholics versus self-identifying ones would show stark differences.
