The closest science comes to defining concept of “race” is very broad and vague clusters of haplogroups, and that’s pretty much it. Two random people from “different races” can have much more common in genetic sense than two random people from “one race”, regardless of their phenotype.

The example you give on Jews is very interesting, but irrelevant - “Jews” aren’t a race, it’s an ethnic group 🤷

Poles, French and Irish are also ethnic groups and pretty well defined by haplogroups, but in the racial pseudoscience they’re both “white race” which is equivalent to “how little Joe named them because he liked how similar they are looking”.
