Odido hackers voice, police are trying to identify him. In the longer TV section, and in news articles, they say he's clearly Dutch. But my first impression is that he sounds* like most second generation Moroccan folks I know. The comments on Youtube say the same.

So, is this woke political correctness? Or did they intentionally not want to bias the audience in one direction, because e.g. he might be faking the accent.

People also point out that he probably speaks English very often, which causes distortions when speaking Dutch. But that's unsurprising for a hacker.

* = A very light but distinct accent, could be a different Arab country. He also makes grammatical mistakes (growing up with a local Dutch dialects can cause that too). Street language also sounds Moroccan these days, even with white kids, but they speak without accent in formal situations, like this phone call.
