Zapping not working... Anyways, yeah, its plutocracy and the strength of democracy is its ability to deceive the powerless. Its stronger than monarchy precisely because its less honest. It tells voters that they can loot too, if they vote for it, and its okay because voting absolves all sins, and they prefer the sweet lie to the work that honesty would confront them with. The conflate monarchy with tyranny and don't see that a monarch's power comes solely from his/her ability to ensure property rights for the constituents of the nation, since property is all that monarchy is ; and since violation of property is all that democracy is, then it is democracy which is guaranteed to be a tyranny.
Despite this, I'm not 100% anti-democracy. I just think voting on anything beyond your own community is a form if theft, which makes some voting a violation of human rights. If its limited to your direct community, its fine. So I say that a democracy wider than one day's walk is inherently tyranny, but less than one day's walk has decent real world safeguards against looter mentality.
