so the fake pub key thing is always going to be a thing with current address types. with or without 110, hostile actors that want to blow up the UTXO set can and will if they want. nothing we can do about it.

the big OP return doesn’t do anything to mitigate that anyways.

so 110 doesn’t stop it but the 100,000 OP returns don’t either.

i would rather take the win, close up what we can with this opportunity, and work on solutions to mitigate exploiting current address types

for me, 110 doesn’t create more of an incentive for the UTXO bloat. if spammers just want data onchain cheap, they can hash huge files and throw the hash in the OP_Return, i think the people that do the harmful stuff get off harming something beautiful imo.

i know that’s not a perfect answer/solution, but it’s always trade offs
