➡️ Lizzi Collinge MP , Labour MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale, has questioned the Government over the adequacy of cybersecurity requirements applying to hardware wallets used to store cryptoasset private keys.
➡️ Responding, Economic Secretary to the Treasury Lucy Rigby KC MP said the Government’s new crypto regulatory regime will require firms undertaking regulated activities in or to the UK to be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, including firms safeguarding cryptoassets and private keys. She said authorised firms will be required to meet robust standards covering risk management, operational resilience and financial crime controls.
