Roadstr 0.5.2 is out.
0.5.0 shipped the MapLibre 3D rendering engine as an option. A week of actually driving with it surfaced what an opt-in toggle doesn't get exposed to at scale: the cursor freezing between GPS fixes then jumping, and — the less fun one — a screen-wide rebuild firing up to 60 times a second while driving, which is what was actually behind reports of a hot phone and 10% battery on a 30-minute trip.
Both fixed. MapLibre is now the default for new installs — the original renderer is still one toggle away in Settings for anyone who prefers it.
Also: route calculation no longer waits on a cosmetic detail to show your options, the male voice sticks after you pick it, and long-pressing the map now offers "set as parking."
