a system is a term usually used to refer to those with dissociative identity disorder (DID) , other specified dissociative disorder (OSDD, subtypes 1a and 1b), and unspecified dissociative disorder (UDD). their identity isnt fully integrated and so the disorder manifests as the patient having multiple selves
it is widely agreed upon in psych that to be a system you must have gone through intense childhood trauma, and its theorized thats what causes the identity fragmentation in the first place (this is often called the theory of structural dissociation),, however endogenic systems claim to lack trauma (the other term is traumagenic systems)
again im not against them i just dont really understand how thatd work or how a system would form without trauma induced dissociation!
