I'm laughing at myself really hard right now. I assumed my chassis fan died years ago and just never got around to fixing it, but as I've had some random abrupt power failures, decided to get to investigating and looked into replacing the dead fan.
So I opened up the case to look at what I needed.
Well, it turns out, one of the really helpful things to do, with any fan, whether it's new or 14 years old, is to PLUG THE GODDAMN THING IN.
Must have neglected to plug it in when I replaced the motherboard 7 years ago or so.
Still not sure why the chassis fan speed shows as 0 rpm though when it's visibly moving now that it's plugged in...guess I've got some digging to do.
