Update this morning, that Rayner has now been magically cleared by the Inrland Revenue, and so is available to stand. That fairly puts a spanner in Streetings plans. Not a huge fan of Rayner, but of the three - Starmer, Streeting & Rayner, she’s the least worst option. She’s not as bought by big tech as the other two, and I don’t think she’s as involved in the Blair/Mandelson control either.
