September 10th, 2021. I was 21 years old. I stood in line at the Record Service on Green Street in Champaign with other faithful Dylan fans. Bought "Love and Theft," listened to it two or three times. Fell asleep with the words to "High Water (For Charley Patton)" in my head.
Girlfriend called, woke me after six hours of sleep. The whole world was tilted sideways.
And the words for "High Water" still ring around in my brain 25 years later.
