Okay, I think I'm going to go with Garmin.
They're not directly affiliated with Google, Apple, Amazon... but they do sync up with Google Maps for a direction navigator feature, which I'm not a fan of, but don't have to use.
They've got a nice variety of options at various prices, and a long battery life (one is even solar charged- nifty!)
Anyone have insight on Garmin that I should know about?
