Gm. If you find yourself blaming state education for your18 year old lacking basic life skills then you are the problem. Character shaping, critical thinking skills, practical capabilities and mindsets are made in the home, not outsourced to an institution. It is not an educational systems fault that your kid doesn’t know how to use a hammer, change a tire, grow carrots, invest in scarcity or eat and sleep within reason. The absolute massive irony here is that the majority of the parents of today’s18 year olds were the ultimate self reliant “latchkey” kids of the 70’s/early 80’s! Scapegoating to the max!
