Thanks, Eugene, great to see this wonderful walk again. In 1983 I hiked to Sahale Arm and on up to Sahale Peak on a glorious spring day. I met just one person, a park ranger at Cascade Pass. It was earlier in the year with lots of snow high up (and probably midweek too) but nevertheless I guess there are far more hikers and climbers these days. Highlights the importance of the national park service and others in balancing access with protection.
