I am Israeli and completely opposed to these smear campaigns against Israeli soldiers, but the government would be making a huge mistake if it tried to further censor the Israeli population. As an Israeli, I do not want to live under a dictatorship where the government controls everything and everyone; I do not want a *1984*-style "Big Brother" scenario. If two idiotic young people have tarnished the image of our soldiers, we should fight back in kind, rather than using the power of the state. Every citizen has the right to express themselves; freedom of speech must be defended, just as private property rights and the right to bear arms must be.
