What if all we wanted was a space to have conversations? It’s a much smaller part of what makes social media appealing to people but it is certainly a core element of why people use them.

My core problem remains: who pays for running the infrastructure? How do we fund the development? Where is the money coming from? Is everyone just expected to have its own relay and vibe code the tools they need?

I truly believe that nothing is free. Even when good people want to build something for the sake of “change” they cannot focus on it forever for free (there are a few economically comfortable exceptions)

If I were to browse Nostr now, with only these few hardcore survivors using it, what would be the ratio conversation/broadcast?

Incentives run humanity, when they align… stuff happens. Decentralized social media cannot run at scale without incentives.
