Generic non-answer: everything has a risk, so minimizing your attack surface is your best bet. But it's unlikely to be a big risk.
It's probably safe, but I'd personally be hesitate of vibe coded software to handle keys directly. Though it's both my job and hobby to be somewhat suspicious about tech. I also just put 100+ miles on a motorcycle today, which is statistically more dangerous than had I put the same on a car. Like anything else slightly risky, if improves your experience I'd say go for it, but if you're on the fence then defaulting to the less risky option is probably the safer bet.
