Like... think about ancient codebases for which we have only partial source code, or the source is in some obscure version of a specific language we don't have a good compiler for. The machine could be used to reconstruct the missing bits (with acknowledged limitations) to give something like the original back to the world, or translate the source into a more common dialect.
