To a great extent, yes. But also, when the genie is out of the bottle, it has a life of its own.

Diesel probably didn't envision tanks, the Wright bros probably didn't envision fighter jets, Tsiolkovsky probably didn't envision ICBMs. But then, the engineers who made those ICBMs also created the foundation of space exploration and our solar civilization future, and passenger airlines wouldn't exist without the development of jet engines for war, and... Well, Diesel probably envisioned everything and more, that dude was a real genius.

Everything is in motion. Nothing rests. There is no end state, or perfect Arcadia, or nice heaven with clouds and naked babies and a dude who never gets off his ivory throne. "The Kingdom is nigh" means basically now. What is now? Its the limit of a function at a given point, meaning it's purely hypothetical, but still useful.

The 6th day, as you almost certainly know, is symbolic of man. The seventh is symbolic of reason, being the cutting edge of the sword. So when God completes his work on the 6th day and then rests on the 7th, it means the point of creation is to create Man, and the point of Man is to reside in the intellect / the abstract / the pleroma / the forms. We bring forth matter from mind - or the form follows the function. Both functions - mechanism and f(x)=whatever. Both forms - things and the idea the thing conforms to.
