What do Bitcoin, science fiction, psychedelics, history, space and the human mind have in common?
Ask Ioni Appelberg.
We’re excited to welcome Ioni to Sovereignty Summit 2027.

A medical doctor and avid reader with a fascination for science fiction, history, futurism and psychedelics, Ioni takes ideas well beyond the usual Bitcoin conversation. His stories venture into the frontiers of technology, space and consciousness, challenging readers and audiences to think differently about the future we’re building.
He describes himself as a freedom fighter, regular fighter, psychonaut and terrible chess player - which gives you some idea of the conversations we’re looking forward to having with him in Queenstown.
At Sovereignty Summit, Ioni will bring a distinctly philosophical perspective to Bitcoin and sovereignty, asking not only what new technologies make possible, but what kind of humans and societies we want to become as they evolve.
