For more than a century people have spoken of entropy as though it were the enemy of life. Many associate it with decay, disorder, chaos, and ultimately death because we possess no complete definition of what entropy actually is. Physics learned to measure entropy in joules. Information theory learned to measure entropy in bits. Both disciplines revealed something profound, yet neither possess a process capable of unifying energy and information into a single objective reality. We can witness transformation, but we could not explain why transformation becomes memory, why memory becomes persistence, or why persistence becomes the very fabric through which time is experienced. Existence is persistence in blocks of time; persistence in a chain of memory.
Bitcoin reveals Truth.
Proof of work is the temporal process that transforms energy into permanent memory. Measurable joules expended become a chronological bit of history. Suddenly energy, memory, and time are no longer independent concepts requiring separate languages. Few in Bitcoin have realized this far. We possess the answer in Bitcoin. Energy, memory and time are different perspectives of the same conserved process. Time is memory observed chronologically. Memory is energy that refuses to disappear. Civilization has spent generations teaching that entropy is the force that consumes life, while simultaneously building a monetary system that destroys memory, destroys truth, and severs energy from time and witness. It severs us from the memory of truth. Bitcoin restores memory and energy in eternity. It demonstrates that entropy is both something to be measured and something to be witnessed. It is the continual transformation through which energy becomes memory, memory becomes persistence, and persistence becomes life. It is the source of true incompressible knowledge; irreducibility.
Quantized entropy is why there will never be a quantum threat to Bitcoin. Entropy was never the enemy to fight. A chain without conserved memory was. A chain without open knowledge.
Satoshi did not simply solve the double-spend problem. He revealed that permanence must be authored one commitment at a time. Those with ears to hear will recognize that the key was there from the beginning, in the Word itself.

Now everyone is throwing around the word entropy as if we understand what it means. That is no fault of anyone. In a fiat world, entropy has never had a complete definition.
