I think integrating zaps into client workflow has done nothing but diminish Nostr. No other social network has a tipping mechanism attached to posts. You're putting a button in full view that most users will never press. And even if they are the beneficiary, getting a 10 cent zap is basely psychologically insulting to any normal person. It's like throwing pennies in a person's face.

It's quite obvious that zaps are so prominently featured because beneficiaries of Bitcoin Core's largesse want to create more bullet points to talk about when justifying the disaster that is lightning. I've seen multiple people (who have very little understanding of Lightning as a protocol) talk about the incredible Lightning micro-economy of zaps on Nostr.
