Men face serious violence too but 'not thinking about it' isn’t the same as not having to think about it. Women's safety concerns also involve harassment, restrictions on mobility & the constant mental calculation of when, where & how we can move through public spaces. The goal should be safer public spaces, not asking women to adopt men’s risk tolerance. Can we talk about women's issues without immediately making them about men?
