Bitcoin Sisonke (“we’re together” in isiZulu) is a Bitcoin-only grassroots project that pioneers closed-loop circular economies by combining education, gamification, and real-world utility.
Community members can earn sats through Bitcoin courses, meetups, and participation, then spend them at local merchants onboarded to the Lightning Network (often via Blink wallets and added to BTC Map).
Key Objectives:
1. Educate individuals and communities on Bitcoin’s fundamentals, self-custody, and practical use through structured courses, workshops, and culturally relevant sessions.
2. Onboard local merchants (shops, cafes, service providers) to accept Lightning payments, equipping them with wallets, QR codes, signage, and mapping support.
3. Build genuine circular Bitcoin economies where sats circulate locally, earned via education/meetups and spent on everyday goods and services.
4. Demonstrate Bitcoin as sound money and a tool for economic self-determination, dignity, and financial sovereignty beyond speculation.
5. Drive grassroots awareness and community empowerment through meetups, gamification, collaborative events, and consistent real-world adoption.
