This.

Nostr’s greatest feature is also what makes it impossible to “own”:

There are no kingdoms here. Only people.

No algorithm to conquer.
No audience to capture.
No throne to sit on.

Just keys, relays, ideas, chaos, jokes, friendships - and the freedom to leave whenever you want.

That’s not a bug.

That’s Nostr.

Nostr has no kings because there is no kingdom.
I kind of hate to give attention to Carvahlo.

By the way, his first Bitcoin-oriented business was something associated with porn, camgirls, or something. The dude is... skeezy.

And he was really kind of lashing out at Nostr during a time that for many of us, it has been tender. 😁. A lot of people have migrated back to places like X. And if you are here because you want to do the influencer thing or have some "community" that is like X, then of course it's going to lose.

Personally, what I've seen is while all the infloooencers are migrating back to X to "save us from the grifters" the people that I love on nostr are still here.

So John is leaving to go back to X and start market Pubkey there since he failed to sell very many of us on it by deriding us into going over there. (his marketing plans have always been mockery and trolling.)

But in this quote, the thing I circled in red is the key. Not only does it outline perfectly why many people have left, but it also peels the hood back a little bit on what's going on inside the dude himself.

"I don't see why anyone WORTH ANYTHING would stay".

I love poker, and that right there is a tell, my friends. John sees himself as important... and he needs to be in a place where he can build a kingdom and be treated as he feels he is worth.

This is why I like Nostr. It's pure, messy, organic community with a whole lot of signal and humor and humanity.

And honestly, even can't build a kingdom here.

That is a feature, not a bug.
