The U.S. Embassy in Yemen has commented on recent operations against the Iran-backed Houthis, stating that the group “started this conflict and must bear the consequences of their aggression.”
The embassy reaffirmed its support for the Republic of Yemen as the country’s sole legitimate government, saying it has “every right to defend its people and end the Houthis’ ability to inflict terror.”
The U.S. Embassy also expressed support for Saudi Arabia’s right to respond to Houthi attacks and aggression against its territory and interests.
