Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, the author of the Gulag Archipelago. The worlds most famous book about the horrors that went on in the Soviet Unions infamous Gulag.
8 Years he spent in the Gulags. Deprived of paper and pen, memorizing everything he saw. Each evening repeating it all in his head. Documenting it.
After he was released he wrote about it so that the whole world was informed.
Alexandr wrote extensively about Communism and Marxism.
Though he didn't write about Socialism at all.
